6. Configure a Data Link Layer protocol for the dedicated WAN connections
between Berlin and the branch offices. For this example, ProCurve Retail
uses a multilink Frame Relay connection to the service provider, which
allows for the large bandwidth that the connection will need.
a. Create, configure, and activate the Frame Relay interface. Enter:
Berlin(config-e1 3/1)# interface frame-relay 1
Berlin(config-fr 1)# frame-relay lmi-type ansi
Berlin(config-fr 1)# frame-relay multilink
Berlin(config-fr 1)# no shutdown
When you enter the frame-relay multilink command, you will receive a
message that all non-MLFR bindings have been removed from the interface.
Because you have not yet bound any lines to the Frame Relay interface, you
can ignore the message.
b. Create and configure a Frame Relay subinterface to connect to Dub-
lin. Enter:
Berlin(config-fr 1)# interface frame-relay 1.1
Berlin(config-fr 1.1)# ip address 10.1.3.1 /30
Berlin(config-fr 1.1)# description Connection to Dublin

c. Create and configure a Frame Relay subinterface to connect to Pra-
gue. Enter:
