JUPITER L-S and LCD Series Control Panel Instruction Manual
When the Advise flag option has been set in the Jupiter Control system and
an attempt is made to switch control to a new device, the switch will not
occur. The system will instead display the following message on the control
panel in two lines:
SRC in use
by: <Destination name>
The switch to a new device will not be executed until the destination that is
using the source is either:
• Switched to a different source.
• Switched to the "SAFE" input.
Note
The Advise and Enforce options do not work when you are using Sequences
or Multiple-destination switching when the same source is being routed to
more than one destination.
This option will avoid having the control device connected to two
machines at the same time.
Protecting a Destination prevents that Destination from being switched by
other panels in the system. The protecting panel may still change the Des-
tination. If any selected Destination's level is protected, the
button LED on that panel will illuminate amber. If any level is locked by
that panel, this panel's
Locking a Destination prevents that Destination from being switched by
any panel in the system, including the initiating panel. If any of a Destina-
tion's level is locked, the
nate red. If any level is locked by that panel, this panel's
will blink amber.
Routing matrices are usually organized into levels, where multiple signal
paths will normally switch simultaneously (for example, video and audio).
A breakaway switches levels independently from their normal association,
for example, switching video without also switching audio.
When Sticky Levels mode is ON, after a breakaway only the levels that
were selected for that breakaway will remain activated. Subsequent takes
LED will blink red.
