JUPITER L-S and LCD Series Control Panel Instruction Manual
1. A Control panel only needs an IP address if it is using the LAN for
NetConfig (Software updates). Determine the present IP address of the
1st panel. This step will be different for each panel, see the previous
chapters in this manual for your specific panel's information.
2. Disconnect any devices on the Jupiter LAN with the same IP address.
L-S or LCD panels are normally shipped with a default IP address.
You must have Administrator privileges to change Internet settings on a
Windows PC.
1. Use the PC's Network Settings dialog to set the TCP/IP address within
the same local network as the L-S or LCD Panels.
Note
This connection will only be temporary if you are using a Serial connection.
For example, if the L-S or LCD Panels address is presently
192.168.253.100, then the PC address should be changed to be compat-
ible with the 192.168.253.x network (such as "192.168.253.1"). The PC's
sub net mask should be set to 255.255.255.0 (class C network). In a
simple network environment, all other TCP/IP network settings are
irrelevant at this point.
2. Reboot the PC to apply the changes.
Note
You can use the MS-DOS command,
the PC has been restarted.
3. Start the Internet browser of choice (For example, MS Internet
Explorer).
The browser's Proxy setting must be turned off. To check the Proxy
setting for Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Connec-
tions > LAN Settings.
4. Enter the L-S or LCD Panels IP address in the URL window or Start
NetConfig. This will display the L-S or LCD Panel Description web
page.
5. Click the Panel Network hyperlink. The Panel Network Configuration
page will then appear.
