Configuration procedure
1) Device A and Device B are not connected. Power them on and configure them separately.
# Configure Device A.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] chassis convert mode irf
This command will convert the device to IRF mode and the device will reboot. Are you sure?
[Y/N]: y
The device reboots automatically to switch its operating mode. After logging in to the device again,,
create IRF-port2 of the device, and bind it to the physical IRF port Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/3/0/25, and
then save the configurations.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ten-gigabitethernet 1/3/0/25
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/3/0/25] shutdown
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/3/0/25] quit
[Sysname] irf-port 1/2
[Sysname-irf-port 1/2] port group interface ten-gigabitethernet 1/3/0/25
[Sysname-irf-port 1/2] quit
[Sysname] interface ten-gigabitethernet 1/3/0/25
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/3/0/25] undo shutdown
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/3/0/25] save
# Configure Device B.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] chassis convert mode irf
This command will convert the device to IRF mode and the device will reboot. Are you sure?
[Y/N]: y
The device reboots automatically to switch its operating mode. After logging in to the device again,,
change the member ID of the device to 2.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] irf member 1 renumber 2
Warning: Renumbering the switch number may result in configuration change or loss. Continue?
[Y/N]:y
[Sysname] quit
<Sysname> reboot
The device reboots automatically to make the configuration of the member ID take effect. After logging
in to the device again, create IRF-port1 of the device, and bind it to the physical IRF port
Ten-GigabitEthernet 2/3/0/25, and then save the configurations.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ten-gigabitethernet 2/3/0/25
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet2/3/0/25] shutdown
[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet2/3/0/25] quit
[Sysname] irf-port 2/1
[Sysname-irf-port 2/1] port group interface ten-gigabitethernet 2/3/0/25
[Sysname-irf-port 2/1] quit
