Printer (Event log printer)
Phenomenon
Unable to switch on
power
Unable to print
Paper jam has occurred
Communication failure
has occurred.
Causes
Power cable is not connected
correctly.
Power source is not supplied to
printer.
No paper. 'Paper Out' LED is
illuminated.
Cable from station level LAN is
not connected correctly to the
converter.
Cable between converter and
printer is not connected correctly.
OWS/EWS is not set for
connection to a remote printer.
Properties of printer are incorrect. Set OWS/EWS to maintenance
Printing buffer is FULL for some
reason.
A different printing process is in
operation.
Paper is jammed in printer.
Cable from station level LAN is
not connected correctly to the
converter.
Cable is between the converter
and the printer not connected
correctly.
The pause button has been
available.

Corrective action
Check cable connection.
Check AC power source.
After turning off the printer, replenish
paper.
Converter exchanges LAN media
between optical cord and twisted
pair wire cable.
Check cable connection.
Set remote printer to OWS/EWS.
mode and select remote printer from
'printer' in 'my computer'. Then
select 'printer' from menu bar and
check properties, especially check
that the paper is set to series paper.
Restart printer and OWS/EWS
It will be printed sequentially, so wait
for a while.
After turning off the printer, clear
paper jam by referring to page in the
manual.
Change media converter between
optical cord and twisted pair wire
cable.
Check cable connection.
Set the pause button to not
available, and restart the printer.
