4.7.4.3 Installing an INF-B1U-D
For DC power redundancy the NPT-1020 platform must have the INF-1BU-D module installed in the power
module slots and each power connector connected to a separate power source. The NPT-1020 is always
shipped with a power module already installed. The following procedure therefore describes replacing the
power module.
To install an INF-B1U-D in the NPT-1020 platform:
1. Check that the module has not been physically damaged during shipment, and that the antistatic
protection bag of the original packaging is sealed.
2. Remove the module from its antistatic protection packaging and perform a visual inspection to detect
damage during shipping. Report any problems.
3. Hold the INF-B1U-D module extractor and insert the rear end of the module into the card guides.
4. Push the module in until the panel at the front of the module is flush with the front of the NPT-1020
platform. If resistance is felt before the connectors are flush, pull the module out and repeat the
procedure.
5. Secure the module in place by tightening its two captive screws.
