86 Appendix B: Technical reference
Warning
Each LP4 supplemental power connector can sustain a maximum current of
12 amps and is protected by a 12-amp fuse.
Each 6-pin PCIe or 8-pin PCIe power connector (known in the industry as a PCIe
6+2 pin connector) can sustain a maximum current of 15 amps and is protected
by a 15-amp fuse. Note that when an 8-pin EPS connector is used, the 6+2 pin
power connector present on the same cable cannot also be used.
When connecting additional devices to your Matrox Supersight, the fuses will
blow if the previously mentioned limitations are not respected.

Chassis

The Matrox Supersight chassis can enclose:
• Up to four Matrox Supersight SHBs (Matrox Supersight Solo can only have one
SHB).
• Up to thirteen PCIe boards (Matrox Supersight Solo can have up to 8 or up to
13 PCIe boards, depending on the variation purchased. Matrox Supersight e2 can
have up to 10 PCIe boards).
• Up to four 2.5-inch mass storage devices, such as hard disk drives.
• One 5-inch (slim) optical disk drive (for example, a CD-RW/DVD-ROM).
• Up to six SO-DIMM memory modules per Matrox Supersight SHB-5520.
• An internal power supply, and three fans.
Mounting points on the chassis allow the unit to be secured to other equipment.
