22 Chapter 1: Before you begin

Starting the Matrox Supersight unit

By default, pressing the Matrox Supersight unit's power button will start all the
SHBs in the chassis.

Powering your Matrox Supersight

The power supply for your Matrox Supersight consists of 4 banks of power supply
modules (PSU), so Matrox Supersight has 4 power input connectors at the back
of the unit. You must connect power to each of these, regardless of the number of
SHBs or PCIe boards in your unit.

Limited automatic logins and default passwords

If you have not changed the user name and password for the administrator
account, your Matrox Supersight unit will use this information to automatically
log into your operating system. However, after five consecutive automatic logins
with this password, or if you change the user name or password, Matrox Supersight
will prompt you for a user name and password at each log in.
The default user name and password are:
User name
Password
❖ Note that the user name and password are case-sensitive.

BIOS setup utility

To enter the BIOS setup utility for a specific SHB, you must first access your SHB,
following one of the suggestions presented in the Accessing your Matrox
Supersight section, earlier in this chapter.
Once you have access to the specific SHB, press the power button to turn it on
and then press the F2 or Delete key during power-up self-test (POST) for that
SHB. You only have a few moments to press the key before the boot-up process
continues. For more information on the BIOS setup utility, refer to Appendix C:
BIOS reference for Matrox Supersight SHB-5520.
