Meaning
This item allows you to select the form of channel interleaving used. Channel interleaving forces CPU data
requests to be routed between one or more of the available connections (between the CPU and the available
memory modules) instead of accumulating in one connection to one memory module. Channel interleaving
increases the speed of data access but also increases the power requirements.
When set to Auto, this item is set to its most efficient mode.
Note that, not all processing operations are designed to make use of this optimization. This item should only
be changed if your Matrox Supersight unit is running software with specific limitations.
This item allows you to select the form of rank interleaving used. Rank interleaving allows one bank of
memory to be refreshed while the other bank is being accessed, improving memory performance.
When set to Auto, this item is set to its most efficient mode.
Note that rank interleaving works for double-sided memory modules only. This item should only be changed
if your Matrox Supersight unit is running software with specific limitations.
This item allows you to enable the test of the memory modules during power-up self-test (POST).
Note that this item should be left at its default setting.
This item allows you to enable the repairing of errors in memory using the patrol scrub error-correction
scheme for ECC memory modules.
Note that this item should be left at its default setting because your Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 does not
support ECC memory modules.
This item allows you to enable the repairing of errors in memory using the demand scrub error-correction
scheme for ECC memory modules.
Note that this item should be left at its default setting because your Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 does not
support ECC memory modules.
This item allows you to set the operating speed of DDR3 memory modules.
Note that the default setting of this value is optimized for the Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 board. If a fixed
speed is set and the memory module and/or the processor don't support such speeds, your unit might be
unusable or might not function reliably.
This item allows you to enable closed loop throttling. Closed loop throttling is a method used to reduce the
temperature of the on-board memory modules. This is accomplished by reducing traffic on the memory bus,
based on the temperature of the memory modules.
Closed loop throttling relies on the memory module's temperature sensors.
The following items affect closed-loop throttling: the Temp Hysteresis and Guard Band Temp items.
Note that the default setting of this value is optimized for the Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 board.
