Server Mgmt

This section describes all items of the Server Mgmt menu. The server management
menu allows for the remote management of your Matrox Supersight SHB-5520
through a LAN or serial port using a baseboard (motherboard) management
controller (BMC). Refer to the section entitledThe Legend window subsection of
the The BIOS setup utility section for guidelines on navigating within this menu.
Setting the items below to the wrong values can cause the unit to malfunction.
Note that all default settings have an asterisk * next to them.
Meaning
This item allows you to enable the baseboard (motherboard) management controller (BMC). The BMC
provides a way to deliver BIOS messages (such as, POST results) to a remotely-connected device.
When this item is set to Enabled, BIOS messages are sent out on the BMC network to be received and used
by server management software to provide troubleshooting of remote devices.
Note that the default setting of this value is optimized for the Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 board.
This item allows you to enable whether the boot process should wait for the BMC to initialize
communications before continuing the power-up process. This process can take around 30
seconds to complete.
