24 Chapter 1: Before you begin

Restarting individual SHBs

When the unit is on, you can restart the unit and SHBs using one of the following

techniques:

• Using the keyboard, connected to the required SHB via USB, press the

Control-Alt-Delete keys simultaneously. Follow all on-screen instructions to

restart your SHB. Repeat for each SHB in your unit.

• Press the power button to turn the unit off, and then press the same button to

turn the unit on again. The SHBs will shut down, and then start up again.

There are different ways to turn off the Matrox Supersight unit:

• Shutting down all SHBs. Press and immediately release the power switch. This

will allow the Microsoft Windows operating system (for each SHB) to shut down

properly.

• Shutting down each SHBs. Press the Control-Alt-Delete keys on the keyboard

attached to the required SHB, and then select Shut Down in the Microsoft

Windows on-screen dialog box. This will allow you to save files and close running

applications before commanding the SHB to shut down.

• Force a shut down of all SHBs. Press and hold the power switch. This does not

allow the Microsoft Windows operating system enough time to shut down

properly for each SHB. Pressing and holding the power switch is not the

recommended way to turn off the unit; this way should only be used if all other

ways have failed.
