Meaning
This item allows you to enable Intel Virtualization Technology. This technology allows a computer to run
multiple operating systems and applications as independent virtual machines. This allows one computer to
function with multiple "virtual" operating systems, and isolate different computing activities into separate
partitions.
You will need to reboot your Matrox Supersight unit for the changes to this item to take effect.
Note that the default setting of this value is optimized for the Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 board.
This item allows you to set the type of turbo mode (Intel Turbo Boost Technology). When this item is set to
Custom, further specific settings become available. See the following table for more information.
The following items appear in the CPU Configuration submenu when the Power
Technology item is set to Custom.
Meaning
This item allows you to enable Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology (EIST). EIST allows the computer to
dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency, which can result in decreased average power
consumption and decreased average heat production.
This item allows you to enable turbo mode. Turbo mode can run the processing core faster than the marked
frequency when at least part of the CPU is operating either under power, temperature or other current
specifications limits, as designated by the hardware.
This item allows you to change the type of turbo boost used when the Turbo Mode item is enabled.
When set to Traditional, the turbo boost is engaged immediately, when possible.
When set to Power optimized, turbo boost engages after the highest performance state is sustained for
more than two seconds.
This item allows you to change the P-State coordination type. The CPU estimates the performance state
(P-State) for a period of time, based on the previous monitoring of the CPU load and resource usage.
This item should be left at its default setting.
This item allows the CPU to report when it enters the C3 state, as either C3 or C2 (ACPI C2), to the operating
system.
