BMC network configuration submenu

The BMC network configuration submenu allows to you configure the
connection to your LAN either statically or dynamically (that is, using DHCP).
Setting the items below to the wrong values can cause the unit to malfunction.
Meaning
This item allows you to specify the type of IP address configuration to use for the system event log (SEL)
components.
If this item is set to Do nothing, SEL components will not receive messages.
If this item is set to Static, SEL components will send messages using the static IP addressing information
stored in this menu.
If this item is set to Dynamic, SEL components will send messages using the dynamic IP addressing
information obtained by the BIOS.
Note that most server management systems recommend that the BMC IP address should not be the same
as the Matrox Supersight SHB-5520 board's operating system's IP address. Refer to your server management
system for more information.
This item allows you to specify a static IP address to be used by the SEL components.
This item allows you to specify the subnet mask of your network.
This item allows you to specify the MAC address to be used by the SEL components.
This item allows you to specify the IP address of your network's router.
This item allows you to specify the MAC address of your network's router.

Error simulation submenu

The Error simulation submenu allows you to enable a simulated fault resilient
booting level 2 (FRB-2) failure for debug purposes.
Setting the items below to the wrong values can cause the unit to malfunction.
Meaning
This item allows you to enable a simulated fault resilient booting level 2 (FRB-2) failure.
When set to Enabled, the FRB-2 timer will be forced to expire, causing an FRB-2 timer timeout. The effect of
an FRB-2 timer timeout is defined by the FRB-2 policy, as set in the Server Mgmt menu.
When set to Disabled, the FRB-2 timer is allowed to perform normally.
Note that, to return to regular operation (and booting without errors), set this item to Disabled.
Note that these
items are only
visible if the
Configuration
Source item is
set to Static.
