IMMOBILIZER (DIAGNOSTICS)
1. Basic Diagnostic Procedure
A: PROCEDURE
Step
1 CHECK ILLUMINATION OF IMMOBILIZER
INDICATOR LIGHT.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2 CHECK ENGINE START.
Turn the ignition switch to START position.
3 CHECK ILLUMINATION OF IMMOBILIZER
INDICATOR LIGHT.
1)Turn the ignition switch to OFF or ACC posi-
tion.
2)Wait at least 60 seconds.
4 CHECK ILLUMINATION OF IMMOBILIZER
INDICATOR LIGHT.
Remove the key from ignition switch.
5 CHECK INDICATION OF DTC ON DISPLAY.
1)Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2)Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data
link connector. <Ref. to IM-7, Subaru Select
Monitor.>
3)Turn the ignition switch and Subaru Select
Monitor switch to ON.
4)Read any DTC on the display.
6 PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS.
1)Inspect using "Diagnostics Chart with Trou-
ble Code".<Ref. to IM-17, Diagnostics Chart
with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).>
2)Repair the trouble cause.
3)Perform the clear memory mode.
4)Read any DTC again.
BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
Does the immobilizer indicator
light illuminate?
Is the engine hard to start?
Does the immobilizer indicator
light blink?
Does the immobilizer indicator
light begin to blink within 1 sec-
ond after the key is removed?
Are DTCs indicated on dis-
play?
Are DTCs indicated on dis-
play?
IM-2
Check
Go to step 2.
Go to step 5.
Go to step 4.
The immobilizer
system is OK.
Go to step 6.
Inspect using
"Diagnostic Chart
with Trouble
Code". <Ref. to
IM-17, Diagnos-

Go to step 3.

Check the immobi-
