Perform a mA loop test using ProLink III

Prerequisites
Before performing a mA loop test, configure Channel C as a mA output.
Follow appropriate procedures to ensure that loop testing will not interfere with existing
measurement and control loops.
Procedure

Configuration and Use Manual
Choose New Value.
Set Simulation Value to OFF.
Start the simulation.
Verify the signal at the receiving device.
Choose Exit.
If the discrete output readings are reversed, check the setting of Discrete Output
Polarity.
Set the remote input device to ON.
Choose Menu > Service Tools > Service Data > View I/O Levels and read the state of
the discrete input.
Set the remote input device to OFF.
Choose Menu > Service Tools > Service Data > View I/O Levels and read the state of
the discrete input.
Return the remote input device to normal operation.
If the discrete input readings are reversed, check the setting of Discrete Input
Polarity.
Choose Device Tools > Diagnostics > Testingand select the mA output to test.
Enter 4 in Fix to:.
Click Fix mA.
