6.2.1.12 CONFIG: Remote (Remote Control)
Remote Control=Local
Use the
arrow keys to select Local, Serial remote, or Ethernet. Press ENTER.

When you select Local, you are not permitted to reconfigure the modem via Serial Remote or
Ethernet, although remote monitoring is permissible. When you select Local or Serial Remote,
the modem displays a common submenu – proceed to the next section for details.

CONFIG: Remote Local or Serial Remote Settings
Interface= RS-485-4W
Address= 0001
When you select either Local or Serial remote control, use the
Interface, Address, or Baudrate. Then, use the
Baudrate, and each digit of the Address.
Note that:
•
Character format is not selectable and is fixed at 8-N-1.
•
For RS-485 (aka EIA-485) – The permitted address range is from 0001 to 9999. Address 0000
is reserved for universal addressing.
•
For RS-232 (aka EIA-232) – The Address is fixed at 0000.
