Valve Clearance
Adjustment (cont'd)
6. Tighten the locknut, and check the clearance again,
Repeat the adjustment if necessary.

7. Rotate the crankshaft 180
0
counterclockwise (camshaft
pulley turns 90°).
The "UP" marks should be on the exhaust side. Adjust
the valves on NO.3 cylinder.

Rotate

crankshaft
180 0 counterclockwise to bring
No. 4 piston to TOC.
The "UP" marks should be pointing straight down.
Adjust the valves on No.4 cylinder.

9. Rotate the crankshaft 180 0 counterclockwise to bring
No.2 piston to TOC.
The " UP" marks should be on the intake side. Adjust
the valves on No.2 cylinder.
·UP· MARKS
10. Install the cylinder head cover (see page 6-32),
II . Retorque the crankshaft pulley bolt Isee page 6-7).
