CHECK CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.
1 )Remove the camshaft position sensor.
2)Measure the resistance between connector
terminals of camshaft position sensor.

NO. 1 -NO. 2:
7 CHECK CONDITION OF CAMSHAFT POSI-
TlON SENSOR.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
No
Replace the cam-
shaft position sen-
sor. <Ref. to

Tighten camshaft
position sensor
installation bolt
securely.
Go to step 9.

8 CHECK CAMSHAFT SPROCKET.
Remove the front belt cover. <Ref. to
ME(S0HC)-46, Belt Cover.>
9 CHECK INSTALLATION CONDITION OF
TIMING BELT.
Turn the camshaft using ST, and align align-
ment mark on camshaft sprocket with align-
ment mark on timing belt cover LH.

Is the camshaft position sensor
installation bolt tightened
securely?
Are camshaft sprocket teeth
cracked or damaged?
Is the timing belt dislocated
