CAMSHAFTS
INSPECTION
1. Inspect:
S Camshaft lobes
Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches ! Re-
place the camshaft.
2. Measure:
S Camshaft lobe dimensions a and b
Out of specification ! Replace the cam-
shaft.
Camshaft dimensions:
Intake:
<Limit>: a 32.40 mm (1.2756 in)
Exhaust:
<Limit>: a 32.85 mm (1.2933 in)
3. Measure:
S Camshaft runout
Out of specification ! Replace.
Camshaft runout:
0.03 mm (0.0012 in)
4. Measure:
S Camshaft-journal-to-camshaft-cap
ance
Out of specification ! Measure the cam-
shaft journal diameter.
Camshaft-journal-to-camshaft-
cap clearance:
0.028 X 0.062 mm
(0.0011 X 0.0024 in)
