TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the main fuse and ignition fuse.
Refer to "FUSE INSPECTION"
in CHAPTER 2.
FAULTY
OK
Check the battery.
Refer to "BATTERY INSPECTION"
in CHAPTER 2.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
OK
Check the stator coil and pickup coil.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
OK
Check the spark plug gap.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
OK
Check the ignition coil resistance.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
OK
Check the engine stop switch, throttle
switch, carburetor switch and main switch.
FAULTY
OK
Check the main relay.
FAULTY
OK
Correct the connection and/or
replace the rectifier/regulator
and/or the CDI unit.
IGNITION SYSTEM
NO SPARK OR WEAK SPARK.
Replace the main fuse and/or ignition fuse.
Replace and/or charge the battery.
Refer to "BATTERY CHARGING" in CHAPTER 2.
Replace the stator coil assembly.
Repair or replace the spark plug.
Replace the ignition coil.
Replace the handlebar switch (right),
carburetor switch, and/or main switch.
Replace the main relay.
