CARBURETORS
ASSEMBLY
NOTE:
S Before assembling the carburetors, wash all of
the parts in a petroleum based solvent.
S Always use a new gasket and O-rings.
1. Install:
S Jet needle kit
S Needle jet
S Pilot jet
S Main jet
2. Inspect:
S Piston valve
S Piston valve spring
S Vacuum chamber cover
S O-ring a
3. Measure:
S Float hight a
Out of specification ! Adjust.
Float height:
11 X 15 mm (0.43 X 0.59 in)
Measurement and adjustment steps:
S Hold the carburetor upside down.
S Measure the distance between the carbure-
tor body and top of the floats.
NOTE:
The float arm should resting on the needle valve
without exerting pressure on it.
S If the float height is not within specification,
inspect the valve seat and needle valve.
S If either is worn, replace them both.
S If both are fine, adjust the float height by
bending the float arm tang 1 on the float.
S Recheck the float height.
