Cleaning the scanner area

If the scanner is dirty, it could cause unwanted markings on printed copies
or black lines on documents received by the other party. Clean the scanner
regularly.
To clean the ADF glass/document glass/platen cover/document pad

Wipe with a soft cloth dipped in water and wrung out thoroughly. Then, wipe
with a clean dry cloth. If dirt is heavily built up, wipe with a cloth dipped in
a small amount of mild cleaning solution, and then wipe again with a clean
dry cloth.

To clean the ADF

If the ADF is dirty, black lines could be printed on the copies. Or, something
attached to the document feeder roller could cause a document jam.
Clean the document feeder roller or separator pad regularly.
Carefully wipe with a soft cloth dipped in water and wrung out thoroughly.
Then, wipe with a clean dry cloth.
Wipe down the whole roller, turning it by hand.
