Useful fax functions
Super G3 & JBIG, high-speed document scanning & quick memory
transmission functions
The built-in 33.6Kbps fax modem based on ITU-T (The ITU
Telecommunication Standardization Sector) V.34 allows for the Super G3
communication, which enables ultrahigh-speed transmission between 2 and
3 seconds on a general phone line. Furthermore, a new standard compression
format JBIG has been adopted. You can even send photo documents at
ultrahigh speed.
A4 size documents can be scanned in only 2 seconds per sheet. Furthermore,
you can start transmitting documents immediately after they are scanned.
Therefore, you can reduce the total working time by a great deal, especially
when you transmit a large volume of documents.
Rotate transmission/reception
If the document direction is different from the paper direction, the document
image will be automatically rotated 90 degrees and printed according to
the direction of the paper. In addition, a saved document will be rotated 90
degrees and transmitted. You can transmit regardless of the paper size or
document direction of other fax machines.
Super triple access function
You can register each operation or subsequent transmission even if MFP
is in operation for such things as memory transmission/reception, or copy
printing.
Fax forwarding function
You can forward documents (faxes) received within a preset time to a
specified destination.
For example, you can avoid missing or ruining business opportunities,
because you can receive documents transmitted to your office when you are
out, in a remote place, or at home (page 4-44).
Transmission Confirmation Report
You can automatically print the transmission results for checking if you
succeed in transmitting to the other party.
You can set whether the transmission confirmation report is printed after
every transmission or on a temporary basis (page 3-42).
