8. Disconnect the 2P connector from the mainshaft
speed sensor.
9. Check for continuity between the D11 terminal and
the No. 1 terminal of the mainshaft speed sensor
connector.
PCM CONNECTOR D (16P)
MAINSHAFT SPEED
SENSOR CONNECTOR
Wire side of female terminals
Is there continuity?
YES Go to step 10.
NO Repair open in the wire between the D11
terminal and the mainshaft speed sensor.
10. Check for continuity between the D12 terminal and
the No. 2 terminal of the mainshaft speed sensor
connector.

Wire side of female terminals
Is there continuity?
YES Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM
connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good
PCM and recheck.
NO Repair open in the wire between the D12
terminal and the mainshaft speed sensor.
