6.5.15 STAINED LEADING EDGES WHEN MANUAL DUPLEX
PRINTING POSTCARDS OR THICK PAPER
Staining can occur at the leading edges during duplex printing when feeding postcards or thick
paper from the Bypass Tray.
Cause
During feed for duplex printing from the bypass tray, the printed first side is rubbing against the
bypass paper feed rollers and peeling off toner.
Action
If smearing or staining occurs at the leading edges within halftone and filled areas when feeding
from the bypass tray, switch to paper feed to Tray 1.
