Replacing a microprocessor and heat sink

The following notes describe the type of microprocessor that the server supports
and other information that you must consider when you install a microprocessor
and heat sink:
v Use the microprocessor installation tool that came with the new microprocessor
to remove the microprocessor from the server.
v Be extremely careful when handling the microprocessor, the contacts are very
fragile.
v The server supports up to two Intel Xeon dual-core or quad-core
microprocessors. See http://www.ibm.com/systems/info/x86servers/
serverproven/compat/us/ for a list of supported microprocessors.
v Do not mix dual-core and quad-core microprocessors in the same server.
v Do not mix Intel Xeon
Series microprocessors in the same server, it is not supported. In addition:
– Intel Xeon EX versions of the 6000 and 7000 Series microprocessors are
supported only on machine types 7148 and 7149.
