Completing the configuration
Introduction
To complete the configuration, make the following settings:
● Check and set the send cycle clock on the PLC to allow synchronization of PROFINET IO
devices and improve the precision of the cyclic data exchange via PROFINET IO.
● Check and set isochronous operation, e.g. including the Ti/To times
● Check the sync domain, sync master, and sync slave
● Check the PROFINET port interconnection
● Supplement the drive with the other components required, e.g. Line Module, Power Module,
Motor, encoder, etc.
Note
The send cycle clock is valid for all PROFINET devices on the IO system. If you set the
synchronization role to a value other than "Unsynchronized", you can also set the send cycle
clock in the sync domain, i.e. centrally on the PROFINET IO system.
Preconditions
● The TIA Portal has been started.
● A SINUMERIK MCU has been inserted.
● The drive and control are interconnected.
● Axes and telegrams have been created.
