7.5 Configuring the measuring probe
SINAMICS S210 measuring probe
For SINAMICS S210, the measuring probes are directly connected to the digital inputs. You
have already created a SINUMERIK MC and a SINAMICS S210 in the TIA Portal and
configured the communication. The configuration is performed using Startdrive (TIA Portal) or
directly via the web server at the SINAMICS S210
1. Open the S210 entry in Startdrive.
2. Select "Parameterization" and in the secondary navigation click on "Digital inputs" in the
foreground.

Measuring probe 1 and measuring probe 2 have already been parameterized.

Telegram 105 is preset as default setting for communication between a SINAMICS S210 drive
and SINUMERIK MC.
Measuring probe in SINUMERIK Commissioning
In SINUMERIK Commissioning, proceed as follows to be able to use the measuring probe
decentrally:
General MD, which is used to set the measuring function for distributed drives.
MD13210 $MN_MEAS_TYPE
= 1 (default 0)
Axis MD, which is used to set the axis-specific measuring function for drives.

The measuring probe must be decentrally connected at ALL drives.
The measuring functionality of the drive is then used.
The encoder actual values in the hardware are then saved at the instant of the
measurement signal edge.
