(1) Loosen t h e fu el r a il m ou n t in g bolt s t o in st a ll
lin es fr ee of st r ess.
CAUTION: Inspect sealing cone at lines. Replace if
compression points exist. Ensure lines are exactly
located.
(2) P osit ion a n d in st a ll fu el lin es (F ig. 3). Tigh t en
t o 22N·m (195 lbs. in .) u sin g a wr en ch t o cou n t er h old
a t t h r ea ded con n ect ion .
(3) Tigh t en fu el r a il t o 14N·m (124 lbs. in .).
(4) Con n ect n ega t ive ba t t er y ca ble.
CAUTION: Care must be taken when installing the
engine cover. Assure the proper routing of the fuel
injector return fuel hose to the banjo bolt fitting in
the left rear corner of the cover. Failure to do so
may pinch or damage the hose causing fuel leakage
or a driveability concern.

SYSTE M - WARNING), (Refer t o 14 - F UE L SYS-
TE M - DIAGNOSIS AND TE STING).

DESCRIPTION
Th e fu el r a il pr essu r e sen sor is a t t a ch ed t o t h e
fr on t of t h e fu el r a il. Th e sen sor su pplies t h e cu r r en t
fu el r a il pr essu r e t o t h e E CM.
OPERA TION
Non -con st a n t fu el syst em pr essu r e in flu en ces t h e
posit ion of a dia ph r a gm in side t h e sen sor. Th is
r esu lt s in a va r ia t ion in t h e elect r ica l r esist a n ce. Th e
fu el r a il pr essu r e sen sor su pplies t h e a ppr opr ia t e
volt a ge sign a l t o t h e E CM.
REMOVAL
(1) Discon n ect t h e n ega t ive ba t t er y ca ble.
(2) Discon n ect t h e sen sor wir in g h a r n ess con n ect or
(F ig. 4).
NOTE: Place a shop towel underneath the sensor to
capture any fuel spillage.
(3) Un scr ew t h e sen sor a n d disca r d t h e sea l.
