Step 2
Slide the card halfway out of the slot along the guide rails.
Step 3
Slide the card all the way back into the slot along the guide rails.
Step 4
Close the ejectors.

Physically Replace a Card

When you replace a card with the identical type of card, you do not need to make any changes to the database.
Before you begin
Warning
High-performance devices on this card can get hot during operation. To remove the card, hold it by
the faceplate and bottom edge. Allow the card to cool before touching any other part of it or before
placing it in an antistatic bag. Statement 201
Caution
Always use the supplied electrostatic discharge wristband when working with a powered NCS system. Plug
the wristband cable into the ESD jack located on the lower-right edge of the shelf assembly.
Caution
Removing an active card can cause a traffic hit. To avoid this, perform an external switch if a switch has not
already occurred. See the
used traffic-switching procedures.
SUMMARY STEPS
1. Open the card ejectors.
2. Slide the card out of the slot.
3. Open the ejectors on the replacement card.
4. Slide the replacement card into the slot along the guide rails.
5. Close the ejectors.
