Troubleshooting Malfunctions

Caution:
When removing or mounting each sensor, be sure to pay attention to the orientation and
position of the spring used to force the detecting lever.

Clear E000, and turn off and then on the
power switch. Select COPIER>DISPLAY
>ANALOG. Does either FIX-C or FIX-E
indicate a rise in temperature?

Turn off the power switch, and cool the
upper fixing roller sufficiently; then, turn
on the power switch.
Clear E000, and turn off and then on the
power switch, and select COPIER>I/O/
>IP in service mode. Is bit 4 and bit 5 of
P012 '0' ?

Is electrical continuity of each heater
normal?

The cause is the
thermistor; check the
following:
• thermistor for
mounting.
• thermistor surface for
dirt.
• connection.
YES
Replace the DC
controller PCB.
NO
Replace the heater.
YES
Check the wiring; if
normal, replace the
SSR.
