Configuring SNMPv3 Users

The access point CLI also enables up to 10 SNMP v3 users to be assigned to one of three pre-
defined groups. The show snmp groups command displays the group names (RO, RWAuth, or
RWPriv) and the group security settings.
There is no Web management interface equivalent for configuring SNMPv3 users.
Note: Users must be assigned to groups that have the same security levels. If a user who has
"AuthPriv" security (uses authentication and encryption) is assigned to a read-only (RO) group, the
user will not be able to access the database. An AuthPriv user must be assigned to the RWPriv
group with the AuthPriv security level.

Using the CLI

Use the snmp-server engine-id command to define the SNMP v3 engine before assigning users to
groups. Use the snmp-server user command to assign users to one of the three groups and set the
appropriate authentication and encryption types to be used. To view the current SNMP v3 engine ID,
