Configuring Banners

Banners allow you to display messages when a user accesses a device using Telnet or Secure Shell (SSH).
EXAMPLE:
For example, you can configure a message that is displayed on the console and one that is displayed on the
Telnet or SSH window.
Foundry AP(config)#banner incoming There is an Incoming Banner
Foundry AP(config)#banner motd Have a Great Holiday!
When an administrator access the access point using Telnet or SSH, the message created using the
command is displayed on the console as:
banner incoming
Telnet connected from 192.168.20.113
There is an Incoming Banner
or
SSH connected from 192.168.20.113
This is an Incoming Banner
The message created using the
Have a Great Holiday!
NEW CLI COMMAND
banner incoming
This command allows you to configure an incoming message which is displayed on the console
when a user logs into the access point using Telnet or SSH.
Syntax
banner incoming <message>
[no] banner incoming
Default Setting
no banner

Command Usage
Enter up to 255 characters for this message.
