Foundry IronPoint 200 User Guide
network. If a client does not have a configured VLAN ID on the RADIUS server, the access point
assigns the client to the configured native VLAN ID for the VAP interface.
Note: When using IEEE 802.1x to dynamically assign VLAN IDs, the access point must have
802.1x authentication enabled and a RADIUS server configured. Wireless clients must also support
802.1x client software.
When setting up VLAN IDs for each client on the RADIUS server, be sure to use the RADIUS
attributes and values as indicated in the following table.

Note: VLAN IDs on the RADIUS server can be entered as hexadecimal digits or a string (see
"radius-server vlan-format" on page 15-5). The specific configuration of RADIUS server software is
beyond the scope of this guide. Refer to the documentation provided with the RADIUS server
software.
Enabling VLAN Support
Use the CLI or Web management interface to enable VLAN support for the access point.
Using the CLI
To enable VLAN support on the access point, first use the management-vlanid command from the
CLI configuration mode to set the default VLAN ID for the Ethernet interface. You can also set the
native VLAN ID for each VAP interface (see "vlan-id" on page 22-4). Then, enable VLANs using the
vlan enable command. When you change the access point's VLAN support setting, you must reboot
the access point to implement the change. To view the current VLAN settings, use the show system
command.
