5. Enter a timeout to force 802.1x re-authentication for clients.
6. Set Encryption to WPA-TKIP.
7. Click Apply.
Authentication – Sets the VAP interface to communicate as an open system that accepts network
access attempts from any client, or with clients using 802.1x authentication or pre-configured static
shared keys. (Default: Open System)

802.1x: Enables 802.1x authentication. Select this option when using WPAor WPA2 over 802.1x.

802.1x/Pre-authentication(802.1x Only): Enables pre-authentication, which allows clients to
roam to a new access point and be quickly associated without performing full 802.1x
authentication. (Default: Disabled)

Pre-Shared Key: Sets the VAP interface to use WPA or WPA2 pre-shared keys. When Pre-
Shared Key is selected, you must define the type and value of the key under Pre-Shared Key
Setting.
•
User Shared Key: Sets the VAP interface to use WEP shared keys. If this option is selected, you
must configure at least one key on the access point and all clients.
•
Open: If you don't set up any other security mechanism on the VAP interface, the network has no
protection and is open to all users. This is the default setting.
