against the right wall, and the black ejector tabs positioned horizontally, push the PIB all the way into the
cardcage. Engage the ejector tabs. A "click" sound should be heard. NOTE: It is recommended the
software is reinstalled after replacing the link decrypter. For details, refer to 3.7 Upgrading Main
Software, on page 3-10.
8. Once the projector is up and running, Service Marriage must be performed to continue playing encrypted
content. Marriage should only be reset by Christie authorized service technicians. Refer to
Marriage, on page

5.6.8 Backplane

(Estimated Replacement Time: 26 minutes)
The backplane is located at the back of the cardcage. The PIB and ICP board are connected directly to the
backplane board.
1. Remove the top lid. Refer to
2. Remove the high security lid. Refer to
3. Remove the security ring by pressing right on the latch, located on the side of the cardcage.
Refer to, Figure 5-59. NOTES: 1) Marriage is broken when this latch is toggled. 2) The security ring
should only be removed by Christie authorized service technicians.
4. Remove blank plate, PIB and ICP boards from the Backplane.
5. Disconnect the LEQD board from the Backplane.
6. Disconnect the seven harnesses from the Backplane board.
7. Using a #2 Phillips
on the inside (Figure 5-61) and the three
located on top of the cardcage.
8. Slide the backplane out of the cardcage.
9. Reverse the above steps to reinstall the
backplane. NOTE: It is recommended the
software is reinstalled after replacing the
IMCB. For details, refer to 3.7 Upgrading
Main Software, on page 3-10.
10. Once the projector is up and running,
Service Marriage must be performed to
continue playing encrypted content.
Marriage should only be reset by Christie
authorized service technicians. Refer to
