Section 5: Parts and Module Replacement

5.6.3 Environmental Board (EVB)

The EVB is located above the cardcage and is accessible beneath the high security lid. The fans, pump,
temperature sensors, light sensor and motor control harnesses plug into the EVB.
(Estimated Replacement Time: 8 minutes)
1. Remove the top lid. Refer to
page
5-7.
2. Remove the eight harnesses from the board.
3. Loosen the captive screw securing the EVB.
Pull the captive screw up after it is loosened.
(Figure 5-57)
4. Slide the EVB out and remove.
5. Reverse the above steps to reinstall the EVB.
NOTE: It is recommended the software is
reinstalled after replacing the IMCB. For
details, refer to 3.7 Upgrading Main Software,
on page 3-10.

5.6.4 Light Engine Quick Disconnect (LEQD)

The LEQD is attached to the outside of the cardcage compartment and connects to the backplane. The LVDS
and power are routed to the light engine from the LEQD.
(Estimated Replacement Time: 8 minutes)
1. Remove the top lid. Refer to
Lid, on page
2. Remove the high security lid. Refer to
5.5.6 High Security Lid, on page
3. Loosen the captive screw holding the
LEQD in place. Pull the captive screw up
after it is loosened.
4. Release the two black ejectors to
disconnect the LEQD from the Backplane.
Pull the LEQD out. Disconnect the three
LVDS/power harnesses. (Figure 5-58)
5. Use a #2 Phillips
the six screws securing the flex cables.

6. Reverse the above steps to reinstall the
LEQD. NOTE: It is recommended the software is reinstalled after replacing the IMCB. For details, refer
to 3.7 Upgrading Main Software, on page 3-10.
