ENGINE
These plates are expendable: they are meant to be
replaced when found worn down or distorted to
the respective limit: use a caliper to check thick-
ness and a thickness gauge and surface plate to
measure distortion.

CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH
Measure the free length of each coil spring with
vernier calipers to compare the elastic strength of
each with the specified limit. Replace all the
springs that are not within the limit.

Service limit: 34,77 mm
CLUTCH BEARING
Inspect clutch bearing for any abnormality, parti-
cularly cracks, upon removal from the clutch, to
decide whether it can be reused or should be repla-
ced. Smooth engagement and disengagement of
the clutch depends much on the condition of this
bearing.
NOTE:
Thrust washer is located between the pressure pla-
te and thrust bearing.

GEARSHIFT FORK CLEARANCE

Using a thickness gauge, check the shifting fork
clearance in the groove of its gear.
This clearance for each of the three shifting forks
plays an important role in the smoothness and po-
sitiveness of shifting action. Each fork has its
prongs fitted into the annular groove provided in
its gear.

MOTOR

LONGITUD LIBRE DE LOS RESORTES DE
EMBRAGUE
Medir la longitud libre de todos los resortes heli-
coidales con un calibre para controlar la resisten-
cia elástica de cada resorte en relación al valor má-
ximo. Substituir todos los resortes que no respe-
ten este valor.

Valor máximo: 34,77 mm
COJINETE DE EMPUJE DEL EMBRAGUE
Cuando se desmonta el embrague, hay que con-
trolar que el cojinete de empuje no presente ano-
malías, especialmente grietas, para decidir si se
puede ser reutilizado o si hay que substituirlo. La
suavidad del embrague y del desembrague depen-
de de las condiciones de este cojinete.
NOTA:
La arandela de empuje se monta entre el plato de
empuje y el cojinete de empuje.
JUEGO DE LAS HORQUILLAS DEL CAMBIO
Usando un calibre de espesores, hay que controlar
el juego de todas las horquillas en el alojamiento
de engranaje correspondiente.
El juego de cada una de las tres horquillas tiene un
papel muy importante en la suavidad y en la preci-
sión de los cambios de marcha. Cada horquilla tie-
ne sus extremos dentro del alojamiento circular
del engranaje correspondiente.
