COOLING SYSTEM

COOLING SOLUTION

At the time of manufacture, the cooling system is
filled with a 50 : 50 solution of distilled water and
anti-freeze/summer coolant. This 50 : 50 mixture
will provide excellent heat protection, and will
protect the cooling system from freezing at
temperatures above –20°C.
NOTE:
The characteristics of different anti-freezes are dif-
ferent. Read the label to know the protection it
guarantees.

RADIATOR

REMOVAL

Remove the fairing.
Drain the cooling circuit by removing the plugs
from the radiator and cylinders.
Loosen the clamps and disconnect the ma-
nifolds from the radiator.
Remove the fastening screws and remove the
radiator.
Radiator cap valve gauge pressure:
110 ± 10 kPa (1,1 ± 0,1 kg/cm
Road dirt or trash stuck to the fins must be remo-
ved. Use of compressed air is recommended for
this cleaning.
Fins bent down or dented cab be repaired by strai-
ghtening them with the blade of a small screwdri-
ver.
Any water hose found in cracked condition or
flattened must be replaced.
REINSTALLATION
The radiator is reinstalled in the reverse order of
the removal procedure.
After installing the radiator, be sure to add cooling
water.

SISTEMA DE REFRIGERACION
LIQUIDO DE REFRIGERACION
En la fábrica, el circuito de refrigeración es llenado
con una solución de agua destilada y líquido de re-
frigeración anticongelante/verano en partes igua-
les (50 : 50). Esta mezcla al 50 : 50 garantiza una
protección térmica excelente y evita que el circuito
de refrigeración se congele, al menos hasta una
temperatura de –20°C.
NOTA:
Las características de los varios tipos de productos
anticongelantes son diferentes. Leer en la etiqueta
del producto el grado de protección que éste pue-
de garantizar.
RADIADOR
EXTRACCION
Desmontar el carenado.
Vaciar el circuito de refrigeración quitando los
tapones del radiador y de los cilindros.
Aflojar las abrazaderas y sacar los manguitos
del radiador.
Sacar los tornillos de fijación y desmontar el
radiador.
Presión de regulación de la válvula del tapón del
radiador:
110 ± 10 kPa (1,1 ± 0,1 kg/cm
Hay que eliminar la suciedad y las impurezas que
hay sobre las aletas con aire comprimido.
Enderezar las aletas dobladas y aplanadas em-
pleando un pequeño destornillador plano.
Todos los tubos del agua que presentan grietas o
fisuras hay que substituirlos.
REINSTALACION
La reinstalación del radiador se realiza efectuando
en sentido contrario la secuencia de la extracción.
Después del montaje del radiador, hay que llenar
el circuito de refrigeración con el líquido.
