ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

NEUTRAL LIGHT

In the event of anomalous functioning, proceed as fol-
lows.
a) The light stays on (ever with gear engaged):
Check the electric connections.
Check and/or replace the neutral switch.
Check and/or replace the control unit.
b) The light fails to go on in neutral:
Check and/or replace the bulb.
Check the electric connections.
Check and/or replace the neutral switch.
Check and/or replace the control unit.

C.D.I. UNIT

Checking with a pocket tester.
Connect the 0+0 probe and the
lead wire of the C.D.I. unit, check continuity and
measure the resistance value.
If the continuity and the resistance values are as
shown in the following table, the C.D.I. unit is may
be judged to be normal (see "CAUTION").
Measure the resistance between the leads.
Tester range: x k Ω .

CAUTION:
Swice the C.D.I. unit contains diodes, condensers and
other electronic components, the measuring method
indicated is only approximate. It is advisable to make a
further inspection, replacing the unit with another
known to function correctly, or perform the controls en-
visaged in the paragraph on the control unit (with the
ignition checker).
In case of replacement of the C.D.I. unit, for the 25kW
version, contact the aprilia consumer service.
The unit in question (code 8124347) is fixed to the vehi-
cle by means of a lead seal with the aprilia mark stam-
ped on it. The description of this tamper-proof seal is gi-
ven in the vehicle's logbook.
In case of failure of the unit, it is necessary to replace
and restore the seal; otherwise, the vehicle may be
subject to precautionary seizure. The sealing must be
carried out exclusively at the aprilia premises and can
be performed only after the delivery of the mudguard
together with the C.D.I. unit. The mudguard will be re-
turned with the new unit already positioned and duly
sealed.

INSTALACION ELECTRICA
TESTIGO DEL PUNTO MUERTO
En caso de funcionamiento anómalo hay que proceder
de la manera siguiente.
a) El testigo se queda siempre encendido (incluso con
la marcha puesta):
Controlar las conexiones eléctricas.
Controlar y/o substituir el interruptor del punto muerto.
Controlar y/o substituir la centralita de control.
b) El testigo no se enciende con el cambio en punto
muerto:
Controlar y/o substituir la lámpara.
Controlar las conexiones eléctricas.
Controlar y/o substituir el interruptor del punto
muerto.
Controlar y/o substituir la centralita de control.
CENTRALITA C.D.I.
Realizar el control con tester de bolsillo.
Conectar los terminales
los cables de la centralita C.D.I., verificando la conti-
nuidad y midiendo el valor de resistencia.
Si la continuidad y los valores de resistencia corre-
sponden a los indicados en la tabla siguiente, la
centralita C.D.I. puede ser considerada normal (veá-
se la "ADVERTENCIA").
Medir la resistencia entre los terminales.

ADVERTENCIA:
Puesto que dentro de la centralita C.D.I. hay diodos,
condensadores y otros componentes electrónicos, el
método de medida indicado es aproximado. Se acon-
seja realizar otro control substituyendo la centralita
con otra que funcione con seguridad, o bien realizar los
controles previstos en el párrafo dedicado a la centrali-
ta de control (con el ignition checker).
En caso de sustitución de la centralita, para la versión
25 kW , hay que dirigirse a aprilia consumer service.
La centralita en objeto (cód. 8124347) está vinculada al
vehículo por medio de un sello de plomo en el que está
impresa la marca aprilia.
La descripción de este sello anti-adulteración está espe-
cificada en el permiso de circulación del vehículo.
En caso de daño en la centralita es necesario sustituir y
restablecer el sello; en caso contrario el usuario podría
sufrir el secuestro preventivo del vehículo.
El sellado debe efectuarse exclusivamente en aprilia y
se realizará previo envío de guardabarros con centrali-
ta. Se le devolverá el guardabarros con la nueva centra-
lita ya instalada y sellada
