Remove the starter spring 0.

It is not necessary to remove the starter spring
from the starter case if replacement is not
necessary. The starter spring can be inspected
without removal from the starter case.
53) Inspection of Recoil Starter
1. Check the ratchet, starter lock, and all springs. Replace if
any deformation, wear, or damage is found.
2. Check the reel and starter case. Replace if any crack or
damage is found.
3. Check the starter rope. Replace if any wear, unraveling, or
damage is found.
