12-4. lndvertent Aerivaion In the event the Automatic Locator Tnumnitcer is advtenty arIvated the
ansmitter switch must be reset by gainig ace
to the transmitter. (Refer to Paagrph 12-2.) Remove
the platc cap from the switch and place swtch in the OFF position. To rset the truaniter
for utomatic
operanon return the switch to the ARM poirion. Refit the plasic cp over the switch. Reinuull the acces
plae. The anminrer is now ready for normal flight operaon. (See NOTE.)
NOTE
As a routine precaution, it is recommended that the tunmicter be
replaced at the eariest oppormnity after inadvertent activation. Note,
however, that the problem may not be in the transmitter. Check the
following:
1. Proper antennae spacing so as to minmie antenna conducted
rf.
2.
Rigidiry of the anmitter installation.
NOTE
Inspect the exteral whip antenna for any damage. Avoid bending the
whip. Any sharply bent or kinked whip shouid be replaced. Anrnna
damage may cause sctural
failure of whip inflight.
