The drag links and downlock spring(s) may be intalled as foilows*
1. Ascerain tha the upper (18 and 23) and lower (34 and 35) dg link re
a
sembled, and
through travel of the links is checked according to prnprph 613. Allow the drg link crso bnce (30) to
remain loose until the adjusrmen of the links is completed.
2. Atach the upper drg links (18 and 28) to the engine mount Rupport,
c the firewall. with
bols (22), wshes, nus and coter pinu Insall spacer washe (21) not to exceed two, between the left
drg link (28) and attachment fitting to aain sufficient cleannce between devu (27) and fusedge.
3. Atuch the lower drag links (34 and 3S) to the rut housing (5) using bolt. Do no secure bolt
with washes, nut and cotter pin until fter adjusment of drag inks
4. Check adjustment of drag inks to decermine that they lock as intcred
in pngraph 6-1.
5. Secure the drag link cross brce (30) and sfet
remaining nucs of the atachment bols.
6. Connect the downlock spring(s) (33) becween the firigs on the gear housing and link cros
brce. Piper Ki 761 082 sould be i

d. Insll the gear down limit switch (29 or 43) on its mounting brcker on the left drag links and
djust as given in pangraph 653.
e.
Atach the end bearing of the retrction.push-pull rod (25) co the drag link devi (27) using bolt
(26), washer nd nut. The had of the bolt (26) with the councersunk portion is to the left or outbord.
Also, check adjustmen of both the drg link clevis and the push-pull rod
given in paragraph 6-56.
f.
Check alipgment of the nose landing gar per paragph 6-16.
g.
Insall the bottom cowl and air inake hoses.
h. Connect nd adjust the gear door per pary ph 6-17 or paragrph 622.
6-15. Adjutamen Of Noe Ger Dng Lin.
(Refer to Figure 6*3.)
a.
To adjust drg links, first remove the bottom cowl by disconnecting the nose ge door actuating
rod, air inake hoses at the bottom cowl and removing attaching crew
b. Plce the airpine on jacks. (Refer to Jacking, Section II.)

Disconnect the retracton push-pull rod (25) u the left dag link (28) by frst retracting the gear
enough to align the connecting bolt of the push-pull rod and dag link clevis (27) with the one inch hole in
the adjacent longitudinal channd and then removing the nut, washer and bolt (26).
d
Remove the downlock spring(s) (33) from between the gear housing (5) and drg link cross brace
(30) by removing the nut(s) washer(s) nd bolt(s) that secure the spring link(s) to the cross brace.
e.
Loosen drg link cross brace ttaching bolts enough to allow the brace freedom to routae but not
sepaae from either drag ink.
f.
Check chat there is no excess wear in the bushings and bolts of the drag link asemblv.
g. Ascerin that when the upper and lower drg links are asembled, the through crvel of the links is
within the limits given in paragraph 6-13.
h.
Extend and rernct the nose gear manually to check that each link assembly locks simultaneously
and independently of each other. Should one or both links not lock u required, adjustments may be made
as follows:
NOTE
Following adjustment to any of the three gers in which the control
tubes/rod were disconnected with the aircraft on acks, the ransmision
disconnected ascertain that all three gear drag inks go over center and
lock at the same time independendy of each other.
