5-28. Rudder Trim Conrois.
5-29. Removal Of Rudder Trim Mechanism. (Refer to Figute 5-8.)

The rim mechanism may be removed by disconnecing the unit at the cockpit control and at the
nose gear seeing arm. Note the number of washers between the ball join and steering arm.

Connect the rudder trim mechanim at the cockpit control and at the nose gear steering an. Rig
and adjust per paragraph 5-31.
5-31. Riing And Adjuanmt Of Rudder Trim Mechanism. (Refer to Figure 5-8.)

To rig the rudder tim mechanim, acetain that the rudder pedals are neural (Refer to Figure
5-8) and the nose gear eering is adjusted and centered according to Paragraph 623 of Section VI.
b. With the rod end (18) disconnected from the nose gear steering rm, turn the mm knob to
indicate neutal. Within the engine compartment,
mrn the bungee tube (12) on the rim screw (11) to
maincain che following distance between the fire wall and tube end.

Adjust the rod end (18) to allow the bolt co slip into place. Place spacer washers between the rod end
and steering arm so as to allow no up or down binding of the bungee rube on the trim screw. Do noc exceed
over seven washers.

5-33. Removal Of Stabiar oControl
(Refer to Figure 5-10.)

To remove the rtabilacor control cables, remove the left forward floor panel, rear seat, baggage
compartment rear bulkhead panel and access panel located just ahead of the sabilator on the right side of
the fuselage.
b. For the removal of the forward control cable, relieve cable tension and disconnect the two
urnbuckles (5) located to the rear of the fuselage near the radio rack. The upper turnbuckle ends should be
marked to facilitate reinstalltion. Remove the control cable guards or pulleys (1) along the bottom of the
fuselage. Draw the cable forward from beneath the floor pane. Ac the pulley cluster located at the fire wal,
remove two cable guards and bring the cable around the pulley cluster. Remove the pulleys (44) behind the
inrumenr panel, disconnect the cable from the control column and remove the cable.
c.
The aft stabilator control cables may be removed by disconnecting the cables at the scabilator
balance (29) and removing the cable pulleys.
d. To remove the srabilaror torque tube assembly, remove the ril cone fairings, scabilator (refer to
paragraph 4-15 of Section IV) and stabilator rim mechanism. (Refer to Paragraph 5-37.) Disconnect the
cables from the balance arm. Remove the nuts securing the bearing blocks and remove the assembly. Should
