Excessive oil consumpuon.
Low grade of oil
Filing or failed bearing.
Worn piston rings.
Incorrect installaion of
pison rings.
Cold weather difficulties. Cold oil.
Remedy
Fill tnk with oil conformng
to specifica on.
Check ump for metal pair-
des. If fonnd, overhaul
of enpne a indicated.
Imnsl new lings.
Intall new rins.
Move aircrft into a heaed
hangar. Heat oiL
In extreme cold weather oil
premure redings up to
approxmrtely 100 Ibs. Does
No necessarily mean
malfunctioning.
Rotue crankshaft in direction
of nomnl roudton with
throttle "full open", and
mixture in "idle-cut-off"
and ignition switch 'OFF"
Install fully charged batten'
Check ground wires.
Inaccurate pressure
readings.
Overpriming.
Weak batery.
Faulty ignition switch.
