Setting of color palette
TMP92CH21 can support monochrome, 4,8,16 level gray scale, color STN panels, and color
TFT panels. It shows as follows how to set each mode.
Monochrome
No need to special setting, it's just select monochrome mode by LCDMODE1<MODE[3:0]>
register.
4, 8, 16gray
No need to special setting as same as monochrome mode, it's just select monochrome mode by
LCDMODE1<MODE[3:0]> register.
In case of 8 and 16Gray mode, both setting needs 4bit data per 1 pixel. Even if set to 8Gray
mode, LSB bit of display data is invalid.
STN256 color
Firstly, select STN256 mode by LCDMODE1<MODE[3:0]> and next set the detail contrast
adjustment. In case of 256STN mode, 8bit display data is divided to 3bit (Red), 3bit (Green) and
2bit (Blue). Red and green are 8 level contrast and blue is 4 level contrast, each level can adjust
from serious 16 level contrast.
Red contrast level can select by LCDRP10, LCDRP32, LCDRP54 and LCDRP76, in these total
4 registers, incase of green, LCDGP10, LCDGP32, LCDGP54 and LCDGP76, in case of blue,
LCDBP10, LCDBP32.
At the result, it support for 8bpp:256 colors out of a palette of 4096 colors.
