16. Did the system stop with the same error code as recorded in step 1 (See page 375)?
v Yes: Go to step 22 (See page 376).
v No: Continue with the next step.
17. One of the books just removed is defective.
a. Power off the system. See Power on/off the system and logical partitions.
b. Make sure all amber logic-power LEDs of all installed processor subsystem DCAs are off.
18. Reinsert one of the books that is pulled out and listed in step 14 (See page 376).
19. Power on the system. See Power on/off the system and logical partitions.
20. Did the system stop with the same error code as recorded in step 1 (See page 375)?
v Yes: The book just reinserted is defective. Replace it and return the system to its original
configuration. See Verify the repair.
This ends the procedure.
v No: Continue with the next step.
21. Have all the books listed in step 14 (See page 376) been reinserted?
v Yes: The symptom has changed. Return the system to its original configuration. See Verify the
repair.
This ends the procedure.
v No: Go to step 18 (See page 376).
22. Power off the system. See Power on/off the system and logical partitions. Then, examine the amber
logic-power LEDs of all installed processor subsystem DCAs.
23. Are all amber logic-power LEDs of all installed processor subsystem DCAs off?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Replace the DCA that has the amber logic power LED that did not turn off. See symbolic FRU
"DCAPWR" on page 324.
24. Pull out the following cards about 25 mm (1 inch), if present. See Models 870 and 890 - Network
interface controller (NIC) card or Models 870 and 890 - Capacitor books and blanks:
v Network interface controller (NIC) card at location M30
v Network interface controller (NIC) card at location M39
v Network interface controller (NIC) card at location M40
v Primary network interface controller (NIC) card at location M41
v Capacitor book at location M33
v Capacitor book at location M37
25. Power on the system. See Power on/off the system and logical partitions.
26. Did the system stop with the same error code as recorded in step 1 (See page 375)?
v Yes: Go to step 32 (See page 377).
v No: Continue with the next step.
