A power supply is reporting a load fault. Read the "Power PIPs" on page 152 for important safety
information before servicing the system.
1. If the system has logical partitions, perform this procedure only from the Primary partition's console
and the system control panel. To determine if the system has logical partitions, go to Determine if the
system has logical partitions before continuing with this procedure.
2. Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Remove and label all cards except Processors and M06 installed in the Processor backplane
area. See Models 830/SB2 with FC 9074 - Cards (dedicated).
Note: Remove the internal HSL cable (SIGC73) that connects from location -C08 to backplane
-MB1 before sliding out the processor tray.
c. Reconnect the ac power cable to the unit you are working on.
d. Power on the system.
Does a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to step 9 (See page 168).
3. Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Remove power supply PP2.
c. Power on the system.
Does a power reference code occur?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Go to step 5 (See page 167).
4. Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Reconnect power supply PP2 that you removed in step 3 (See page 167).
c. Power on the system.
Does a power reference code occur?
v No: Go to "Starting point for all problems" on page 2.
This ends the procedure.
v Yes: Exchange the power supply PP2 reconnected in this step.
This ends the procedure.
5. Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Remove power supply PP1.
c. Reconnect power supply PP2.
d. Power on the system.
Does a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Is the SRC 1xxx-2602 or 2604?
– No: Continue with the next step.
– Yes: Go to step 8 (See page 168).
v No: Exchange the power supply PP1.
This ends the procedure.
6. Perform the following:
a. Reconnect power supply PP1.
