For use by authorized service providers.
The interactive card, or the processor capacity card, that plugs into the control panel assembly is the
failing item.
1. Choose from the following options:
v For SRCs starting with B4xx, continue with the next step.
v For SRCs starting with B6xx, go to step 5 (See page 322).
2. Choose from the following options:
v If the type number from the FRU information is zero, contact your next level of support.
This ends the procedure.
v Otherwise, if the FRU has a reference code of x004, the FRU is located in NB1-A. If the FRU has a
reference code of x005, the FRU is located in NB1-B. See Locations and addresses for the model
you are working on. See the following for further location information.
– Control panel assembly - Models 270, 800, and 810
– Control panel assembly - Models 820 and 825
– Control panel assembly - Models 830 and SB2 with FC 9074
– Control panel assembly, processor tower - Models 840 and SB3
3. Use the type number from the FRU information to determine the part number from the Type, model,
and part number list.
4. Exchange the failing item. For remove and replace instructions, see the following.
v Models 270, 800, and 810 - Control panel - NB1
v Model 820 - Control panel - NB1
v Model 825 - Control panel - NB1
v Model 830/SB2 with FC 9074 - System unit control panel (NB1)
v Model 840/SB3 processor tower, FC 8079 (lower half), and FC 9079 - Control panels (NB1)
This ends the procedure.
5. For SRCs starting with B6xx, follow the instructions for the model you are working with.
v If you are working on a Model 270, 800, or 810, replace the processor capacity card on the Control
Panel assembly. See Locations — Model 270 or Locations — Models 800 and 810 for part number
and remove and replace procedure information.
v If you are working on a Model 820, replace the processor capacity card on the Control Panel
assembly. See Locations — Model 820 for part number and remove and replace procedure
information.
v If you are working on a Model 825, replace the processor capacity card on the Control Panel
assembly. See Locations — Model 825 for part number and remove and replace procedure
information.
v If you are working on a Model 830 or SB2, replace the processor capacity card on the Control Panel
assembly. See Locations — Models 830/SB2 System Unit with FC 9074 Base I/O Tower for part
number and remove and replace procedure information.
v If you are working on a Model 840 or SB3, replace the processor capacity card on the Control Panel
