The failing item is a card, cable or card enclosure connected to bus 1 that might cause an interface failure
between the service processor and the IPL load-source device.
1. Perform this procedure by selecting Manual mode on the control panel.
2. Record all of the SRC data words and describe the operation that was being attempted.
3. Power off the system from the control panel. Check the cables and connections between the System
Unit, the load source IOP and the load-source device. Reseat cables where possible. Power on the
system.
Does the same SRC occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Follow the service actions for the new SRC. Go to "Starting point for all problems" on page 2.
4. Locate the Extended Reference Code in SRC data word 3. This is the first half of the second data
word in control panel function 12:
12
xxxxxxxxEEEExxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
5. For EEEE values in the table below, locate the Additional Reference Code information in SRC data
word 6 (AAAAAAAA). This is the first word in the control panel function 13. If word 7 is non-zero, it is
the DSA of the IOP being used when the error occurred (IIIIIIII). If word 8 is non-zero, it is the device
unit address of the load source device being used when the error occurred (DDDDDDDD). If word 9 is
non-zero, it is the ID of the loadable code unit that was being retrieved from the load source when the
error occurred (LLLLLLLL):
13
AAAAAAAAIIIIIIII
DDDDDDDDLLLLLLLL
6. Use the following list to get a detailed description of the error condition and a recommended service
action, then, continue with the next step.
Value for EEEE
2103

Recommended Service Action:
No valid load source device was
found.
The service processor was directed
by the host OS to use the IOP at
DSA IIIIIIII and the load source device
at address DDDDDDDD. The IOP or
load source are either not on Bus 1
or they were not found. If the address
for the IOP is on Bus 1, then this may
indicate a problem with either the IOP
at address IIIIIIII, the storage IOA
specified in the first nibble of
DDDDDDDD or the load source itself
specified in the fourth nibble of
DDDDDDDD. Reseat or replace the
storage IOA or load source device
specified.
No IOP was found on Bus 1
Replace the IOP on Bus 1, or isolate
a problem on that bus.
